The fastest way to reach us is [email protected]. There is no ticket system here, and no contact form that quietly drops your message into a void. Mail goes to a person.

We read everything. We do not reply to everything at once. But a real problem with the editor, or an error in the documentation, always gets answered.

What is worth writing about

Bugs in the editor or the tools

Tell us about anything that renders wrongly, exports a broken file, or mangles your input. Most rendering bugs depend on one exact sequence of characters. A copy of your input is therefore worth far more to us than a description of it.

Tip: A useful bug report has four parts. Paste the Markdown or HTML you started from, in full. Name the browser and version. Say what you expected. Say what you got instead. With all four, a fix usually takes one evening; without the input, it takes several rounds of email.

Errors in the guides

Our syntax pages describe how many different renderers behave, and that behaviour shifts over time. If a claim on any page is out of date, or simply wrong, tell us which page and what the correct behaviour is. Corrections go up quickly, and the page's update date moves with them.

Missing tools or missing topics

The tools exist because certain jobs kept coming up. If you keep doing something by hand that a browser could do for you, that is a good suggestion. The same goes for our pages: if you searched the syntax reference or the platform guides and came away empty-handed, we want to know what you were looking for.

Four answers that are already published

Some questions arrive often enough that the answer is written up in full. If yours is one of these, the linked page will be faster than waiting on a reply:

• Is any of this free, and what is the catch? See are online Markdown editors free.
• Where does my text go? Nowhere. See where your text is stored and the privacy policy.
• Can I recover a draft I lost? Sadly not, for the reason given in that same answer: drafts live in your browser and never reach us, so we hold nothing to restore from.
• Why does my Markdown look different on another site? Almost always a flavor difference. See which Markdown flavor and the platform comparison.

Anything not on that list is worth an email. Questions that keep coming back tend to become new pages.

Who runs this site

A small project, run from Taiwan

mdeditor.tw is an independent project, operated from Taiwan. It has no advertising, no investors and no data business behind it. That is the main reason the privacy policy can be as short as it is.
